Leverage 20” Pressure-Sensitive EPDM Flashing for More Productive Detailing
Whether it’s a roof coating, modified asphalt, or singly-ply membrane, installing a low slope roofing system will almost always require the flashing-in of objects penetrating through the roof system. Penetrations come in many shapes and forms, and progress on the job can be hindered greatly if there are a high volume of obstacles on the roof top.
Think about a large warehouse consisting of 400 4’L x 4’W x12”H roof curbs. Each curb requires the roof mechanic on site to custom cut membrane flashing, apply splice tape to that membrane, adhere it to the curb, and splice the base flashing to the field membrane. On average, it takes a single mechanic .75 labor hours to complete this task, which translates to 300 labor hours dedicated to curb flashings on the project; not including the additional steps of corner detailing and lap sealant application.
Imagine if you could reduce the amount of time spent per curb from .75 labor hours to .23 labor hours (70% reduction), resulting in only 92 total man hours spent on 400 curbs. That is a tremendous amount of labor savings, and a nice boost to job profitability. But how is that achievable?
It can all be made possible with Carlisle’s productivity-boosting, 20”x50’ Sure-Seal Black or Sure-White Fully Pressure Sensitive Cured Flashing, which comes pre-cut with factory-applied SecurTAPE across the entire width of the flashing. This allows contractors to flash curbs in record time. Carlisle’s Sure-White Fully Pressure Sensitive Cured Flashing can also be used on TPO systems, which eliminates the need for generators and can save even more time on the roof.
